Testing out the recipe : Granola 3 Delicious Ways by Sara Lynn

I've been craving for simple granola recipes ever since I got back from Europe last year. The breakfast selections in our hotel in Paris was simple yet delicious. I love how they love to have granolas, yogurts, muesli, cereals and simple pastries with jam for breakfast. So we didnt have to worry about non halal food too.

So I was browsing through the recipes in youtube and came across The Domestic Greek . Of course, fell in love with all the simple recipes. So I decided to give it the 3 Granolas recipes a try.

Of course my undying love for chocolate I just had to try to chocolate chip ones. And I wanted a recipe that I dont have to worry about going out just to get the ingredients. And I find that packed granolas/muesli is pretty expensive in malaysia. Its about RM23-RM25 per box which can only last a week or so. So I thought hey should try make on your own.

I just made this one just before leaving for work.

Ingredients :

2 cups rolled oats
3⁄4 cup natural peanut butter, room temperature (Mine was a bit thick so I microwave it for about 10 seconds)
1⁄4 cup maple syrup
1⁄2 cup chocolate chips ( I cheated and used more!)
3⁄4 cup toasted hazelnuts (not really a fan of nuts so I substitute this with raisins instead)

It's not that hard to get rolled oats in KL. They even sell it in Giant or local supermarket, its about RM9-RM10 per packet.

So anyways ,

Just like Sara did in the video, mixed everything together and pour out on the baking tray and bake for about 15 minutes till its crumbly and crunchy or light brown. And Voila! A delicious healthy breakfast. Suprising its not too sweet. And my brother who doesnt really like peanut butter didnt even know theres peanut butter. Mum even suggested that I should make bars out of it and serve it like cookies for this coming Raya. Okay......

Couldn't stop munching this even I'm done with a cup of yogurt and granolas. Can watch the video below for other awesome recipes.

Testing out the recipe : Cheesy Bread Rolls

Yes. I finally did it. A new blog specifically for the recipes! And maybe some travelling posts.

I'm fasting today so the urge of trying out recipes is high. Literally drooling looking at the photos. Hehe. I came across this recipe on facebook when a friend shared another recipe and it linked to this one.

Its super easy. Hassle free. And I suppose most of the ingredients are easy to get. Well for me, I had all the ingredients at home . So decided to give it a try.

The original recipe is by Bobby Parish  at Flavor City.
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • 1/2 cup veggie oil
  • 5 ounces of grated Parmesan or pecorino cheese ( I used grated Parmesan and Mozarella instead)
  • 1/4 tspn baking powder
  • 1 tspn kosher salt
  • 1.5 cups tapioca flour/starch

So tapioca (ubi kayu) flour is a pretty common ingredient in Malaysia (ie kuih lompang, kuih keria? well maybe, I need to start learning some local delicacies for a start hehe). And of course, its easy to get. Its literally everywhere from Giant to Tesco and even 99 Speedmart.

Bought this for about RM2 at Urban Fresh.
So just couple of hours before berbuka I decided to make this. Dump all the wet ingredients into the blender just like what Bobby did in the video and scoop it all out in the baking tin and bake for about 15 minutes. I didnt have a smaller/mini muffin tin, so I used the normal cupcakes/muffin size baking tin so it came out like a scone looking cheeseballs. The original recipe stated yields about 24 cheese rolls. But since I used a larger one, it only came out about 15 rolls.

The cheeseballs came out very light, chewy texture and yes very cheesy. lol.

Nevertheless, the whole family loved it! Will make it again since its super easy and tasty!
